Last month, my trip to Austin marked two significant firsts for me: a visit to Oracle’s World Headquarters and participation in the Oracle CloudWorld Tour.
Walking into Oracle’s impressive headquarters, amidst a light drizzle, I was struck by the grandeur of the building, serving as Oracle’s headquarters since 2020. Interestingly, Oracle has announced plans to relocate their headquarters to Nashville by 2030.
The registration process for the CloudWorld Tour was swift and efficient, allowing me to quickly engage and network with fellow attendees.
The striking Oracle Red Bull Racing display underscored Oracle’s pivotal role in shaping the outcomes of every grand prix event.
The event commenced in the Main Lobby with a keynote address by Rod Johnson, EVP of Cloud Applications. The focal point of the event was AI, aligning with the strategic initiatives of our company, KNEX Technology.
Johnson highlighted Oracle’s substantial $50 billion investment in StarGate, a collaboration with SoftBank and Open AI, and the groundbreaking impact of DeepSeek on the AI landscape, reshaping our perspectives on technology and data integration.
Reflecting on Oracle CloudWorld 2023, Larry Ellison’s statement, “Is Generative AI the most important new computer technology ever? Probably,” resonates even more strongly today, with AI deeply ingrained in Oracle’s ethos since 2001 when machine learning was integrated into the Oracle Database.
Safra Catz, alongside Rod Johnson, reminisced about her pivotal role in automating Oracle as customer #1 and Oracle’s remarkable ability to close and report financials within 7 to 9 days – setting a benchmark in the industry.
A key highlight for attendees, and for you as you read this, is Oracle’s commitment to providing AI seamlessly without additional charges. Unlike competitors who levy fees for AI-related services, Oracle integrates AI into their Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Applications at no extra cost, emphasizing the intrinsic value customers receive. To quote Safra, "AI is the embedded value that customers deserve”.
Oracle's commitment to security is evident in Safra's affirmation that "security is our #1 priority." By leveraging Oracle's AI services, customers gain a sense of confidence in the face of disruptors like DeepSeek, as Oracle consistently enhances and delivers secure, top-notch AI features every quarter.
I really enjoyed the Oracle Applications keynote session, spearheaded by Chris Leone and Laura-Elizabeth Ware, provided profound insights. The session explored the integration of AI into Fusion Applications, presenting three customer success stories and highlighting three impactful AI use cases.
First, Chris shed light on Oracle's core principles and the ethos guiding the development of Oracle Fusion Applications in the AI era:
Stressing that “AI agents are the future of autonomous for organizations”:
Highlighting that these agents have now doubled (100+ now). Check them out here.
Networking with fellow Oracle ACE Directors during the event break and exploring the Oracle ACE booth offered valuable perspectives on the Oracle ACE Program to attendees.
Jenny Tsai's keynote was equally engaging, showcasing innovative features such as ChatDB.
It was great to reconnect with her after the session. Jenny has been a huge supporter of the Oracle ACE Program and the All India Oracle Users Group (AIOUG).
As I awaited my flight back home, meeting Chris and Laura-Elizabeth was a delightful moment.
Recalling the early days of Fusion Inner Circle in 2010 with Chris brought back memories of the inception of Oracle Fusion Applications under Steve Miranda's guidance. Witnessing the evolution of these applications into a comprehensive cloud-based suite has been truly remarkable.
